Since 2003, Orangebox has been doing the mailing business for some of New Zealand's biggest household names, like New World, Fly Buys, Unichem and the Salvation Army just to name a few.
It all started when Stephen Bennett and Thomas Subritzky saw the opportunity to create a mailhouse that was able to meet the very exacting demands of Direct Marketing campaigns - while at the same time building enjoyable working relationships. And because DM often requires some of the trickier fulfilment solutions - we have some brilliant case studies demonstrating our expertise not only in packaging logistics but also in complex data management and personalisation.
The name came about when Thomas thought he'd surprise his wife by painting a bright (OK, fluorescent) orange feature wall at home. Despite the colour being so bright Thomas' wife wondered if she was living in a tanning salon, the name Orangebox was born.
Starting a business from scratch was always going to be hard. Our warehouse in Petone was so cold we didn't need a beer fridge, our pantry was stocked with 2-minute noodles and we sustained some serious paper cuts from hand-folding around 50,000 letters.
The first year's hardship was all worth it though, as by our second year we could finally afford printers, heating, a beer fridge and a folding machine. We were away laughing.
Now Orangebox is one of New Zealand's largest Direct Marketing companies with offices in Auckland and Wellington. We have the capacity to handle large-scale mailings, and the technical expertise to manage complex data management and e-campaigns.
Despite growing steadily over the years, we haven't lost our down-to-earth approach to customer service that keeps our clients very happy. We're proud to say that some clients have been with us right from the word "Go".
